Design
On the reverse side of the coin the design shows John Brown's Fort at Harpers Ferry. In 1859 John Brown led an abolitionist group to take over the armory at Harpers Ferry. Brown was captured and hanged but his fort (the old firehouse) still stands at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park.
Harpers Ferry National Historical Park is located in West Virginia at the confluence of the Potomac River and Shenandoah River.

The US minted different series of the Harpers Ferry quarter. There is the 2016 P quarter, 2016 D quarter, 2016 S quarter, 2016 S proof quarter and 2016 S silver proof quarter.

The standard 2016 Harpers Ferry clad quarters in circulated condition are only worth their face value of $0.25. These coins only sell for a premium in uncirculated condition.

MS 65 gem uncirculated- There is strong luster and eye appeal. A few light contact marks may be present but they are barely noticeable.
MS 67 superb gem uncirculated- A sharply struck coin with only minor imperfections. There are 3-4 contact marks with only 1-2 in the main focal aras.
PR 68 proof- A near flawless coin. A few light contact marks are present.
