2019 San Antonio Missions Quarter


On the reverse side of the coin the design shows symbols that represent the different aspects of the San Antonio Missions. There is a quadrant that shows: arches and a bell that represents community, a lion that represents Spanish culture, wheat that represents farming, and water from the San Antonio River that represents irrigation.

San Antonio Missions National Historical Park is located in San Antonio, Texas. This park preserves four out of the five Spanish frontier missions. These outposts were constructed in order to spread Christianity.

Coin Information

These coins are part of the America the Beautiful quarters program.

The US minted different series of the San Antonio Missions quarter. There is the 2019 P quarter, 2019 D quarter, 2019 S quarter, 2019 S proof quarter and 2019 S silver proof quarter.

Proof coins are essentially coins that have more detail. They are minted on special planchets and it takes longer to produce them. They are specifically made for collectors so you won't find any in your spare change.

Note: The mint mark can be found on the obverse side of each coin under the "IN GOD WE TRUST" motto.


The value will depend on the series and the coin's condition. Below we will examine the value for each series.

Clad Quarters

The standard 2019 San Antonio Missions clad quarters in circulated condition are only worth their face value of $0.25. These coins only sell for a premium in the higher condition grades.

Both the 2019 P San Antonio Missions quarter and 2019 D San Antonio Missions quarter are each worth around $0.50 in about uncirculated condition. The value is around $0.75 in uncirculated condition with an MS 63 grade. Uncirculated coins with a grade of MS 65 can sell for around $1.

The 2019 S San Antonio Missions quarter is worth around $2 in MS 63 uncirculated condition. The value is around $3 in MS 65 uncirculated condition.

The 2019 S proof San Antonio Missions quarter is worth around $3 in PR 65 condition.

Silver Proof Quarter

This coin is worth at least its weight in silver. The silver melt value for this coin is $2.61 as of March 29, 2020. This melt value is calculated from the current silver spot price of $14.43 per ounce.

The 2019 S silver proof San Antonio Missions quarter is worth around $8 in PR 65 condition.

Grading System

About uncirculated- There is a slight trace of wear on the high points of the design. Half of the coin's mint luster is still intact.

MS 63 choice uncirculated- In the major focal areas there are some blemishes or contact marks. The coin's luster might not be as prominent.

MS 65 gem uncirculated- There is strong luster and eye appeal. A few light contact marks may be present but they are barely noticeable.

PR 65 proof- There are no flaws to this coin. A few blemishes may be present.
