2014 Great Sand Dunes Quarter

Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve is located in Colorado. This park encompasses 149,028 acres and it has the largest sand dunes in North America. Over 400,000 tourists come to the park each year.

Coin Information

These coins are part of the America the Beautiful quarters program.

The US minted different series of the Great Sand Dunes quarter. There is the 2014 P quarter, 2014 D quarter, 2014 S quarter, 2014 S proof quarter and 2014 S silver proof quarter.

Proof coins are essentially coins that have more detail. They are minted on special planchets and it takes longer to produce them. They are specifically made for collectors so you won't find any in your spare change.

Clad Quarters

The standard 2014 Great Sand Dunes clad quarters in circulated condition are only worth their face value of $0.25. These coins only sell for a premium in the higher condition grades.

Both the 2014 P Great Sand Dunes quarter and 2014 D Great Sand Dunes quarter are each worth around $0.45 in about uncirculated condition. The value is around $0.50 in uncirculated condition with an MS 63 grade. Uncirculated coins with a grade of MS 65 can sell for around $2.

The 2014 S Great Sand Dunes quarter is worth around $1.50 in MS 63 uncirculated condition. The value is around $8 in MS 65 uncirculated condition.

The 2014 S proof Great Sand Dunes quarter is worth around $3 in PR 65 condition.

Silver Proof Quarter

This coin is worth at least its weight in silver. The silver melt value for this coin is $4.08 as of December 04, 2021. This melt value is calculated from the current silver spot price of $22.54 per ounce.

The 2014 S silver proof Great Sand Dunes quarter is worth around $10 in PR 65 condition.

Grading System

About uncirculated- There is a slight trace of wear on the high points of the design. Half of the coin's mint luster is still intact.

MS 63 choice uncirculated- In the major focal areas there are some blemishes or contact marks. The coin's luster might not be as prominent.

MS 65 gem uncirculated- There is strong luster and eye appeal. A few light contact marks may be present but they are barely noticeable.

PR 65 proof- There are no flaws to this coin. A few blemishes may be present.
