2000 New Hampshire Quarter


On the reverse side of the coin there is an image of the famous rock formation called "The Old Man of the Mountain". This rock formation was located on Mount Cannon and the shape looks like an old man looking eastward. The formation collapsed in 2003 but it will always be remembered. Also displayed prominently on this coin is New Hampshire's state motto "live free or die"

The year 1788 is inscribed on the coin because this was the year that New Hampshire officially joined the union.

Coin Information

The US minted different series of the New Hampshire quarter. There is the 2000 P quarter, 2000 D quarter, 2000 S proof quarter and 2000 S silver proof quarter.

Proof coins are essentially coins that have more detail. They are minted on special planchets and it takes longer to produce them. They are specifically made for collectors so you won't find any in your spare change.

Clad Quarters

The standard 2000 New Hampshire clad quarters in circulated condition are only worth their face value of $0.25. These coins only sell for a premium in the higher condition grades.

Both the 2000 P New Hampshire quarter and 2000 D New Hampshire quarter are each worth around $0.35 in about uncirculated condition. The value is around $1 in uncirculated condition with an MS 63 grade. Uncirculated coins with a grade of MS 65 can sell for around $4.

The 2000 S proof New Hampshire quarter is worth around $3 in PR 65 condition.

Silver Proof Quarter

This coin is worth at least its weight in silver. The silver melt value for this coin is $4.08 as of December 04, 2021. This melt value is calculated from the current silver spot price of $22.54 per ounce.

The 2000 S silver proof New Hampshire quarter is worth around $9 in PR 65 condition.

Grading System

About uncirculated- There is a slight trace of wear on the high points of the design. Half of the coin's mint luster is still intact.

MS 63 choice uncirculated- In the major focal areas there are some blemishes or contact marks. The coin's luster might not be as prominent.

MS 65 gem uncirculated- There is strong luster and eye appeal. A few light contact marks may be present but they are barely noticeable.

PR 65 proof- There are no flaws to this coin. A few blemishes may be present.
