The 1905 O dime is the most rare variety. This coin is worth around $5 in good condition. In very fine condition the value is around $60 and in extremely fine condition the value is around $100. In uncirculated condition the price is around $300 for coins with an MS 60 grade. Uncirculated coins with a grade of MS 63 can sell for around $425.

The 1905 S dime is worth around $4 in good condition. In very fine condition the value is around $20 and in extremely fine condition the value is around $40. In uncirculated condition the price is around $250 for coins with an MS 60 grade. Uncirculated coins with a grade of MS 63 can sell for around $325.

Proof coins with no mint mark are available and they are valued at around $500 each in PR 63 condition. There were only 727 proof coins minted but mostly all of them were saved by collectors so the value isn't as high as you might expect.

Micro O Error

There is a valuable error variety for the 1905 O series where the "O" is minted smaller. A coin with this error is called a "Micro O".

In good condition the 1905 Micro O dime is worth around $60. In very fine condition the value is around $300. In extremely fine condition the price rises to around $725. For coins in uncirculated condition the price is around $2,700 with a grade of MS 60. Uncirculated coins with a grade of MS 63 can sell for around $5,500.

Grading System

Good- The date and the letters are visible but plain. The word "LIBERTY" on Liberty's headband has been completely worn off.

Very fine- The word "LIBERTY" on Liberty's headband is visible but plain.

Extremely fine- The word "LIBERTY" on Liberty's headband is sharp. The edges on Liberty's headband are distinct.

MS 60 uncirculated- There are no signs of wear. The coin has luster, but there may be a few stains, abrasions, or surface marks.

MS 63 choice uncirculated- In the major focal areas there are some blemishes or contact marks. The coin's luster might not be as prominent.

PR 63 proof- This coin has reflective surfaces and only a few blemishes away from the major focal points. There are no major flaws.
