The 1854 half cent is worth around $80 in very good condition. In very fine condition the value is around $100. In extremely fine condition the value is around $115. In uncirculated condition the price is around $275 for coins with an MS 60 grade. Uncirculated coins with a grade of MS-63BN can sell for around $500.

A small number of proof coins were minted and they are each valued at around $5,000 in PR-63BN condition.

Very fine- The lowest curl in Liberty's hair is worn. The rest of Liberty's hair is distinct.

Extremely fine- Liberty's hair and the laurel leaves only show light wear on the highest points.

MS 60 uncirculated- There are no signs of wear. The coin has luster, but there may be a few stains, abrasions, or surface marks.

MS-63BN choice uncirculated- In the major focal areas there are some blemishes or contact marks. The coin's luster might not be as prominent. The color is brown.

PR-63BN proof- In the major focal areas there are some blemishes or contact marks. The coin's luster might not be as prominent. The color is brown.
