The 1835 half cent is worth around $90 in very good condition. In very fine condition the value is around $100. In extremely fine condition the value is around $125. In uncirculated condition the price is around $300 for coins with an MS 60 grade.
A small number of proof coins were minted and they are each valued at around $6,000 in PR-63BN condition.
Grading System
Very good- The word "LIBERTY" inscribed on Liberty's headband is completely visible. Liberty's lower curls are worn.
Very fine- Liberty's hair is just slightly worn. The lettering is clear.
Extremely fine- Liberty's hair and the laurel leaves only show light wear on the highest points.
MS 60 uncirculated- There are no signs of wear. The coin has luster, but there may be a few stains, abrasions, or surface marks.
PR-63BN proof- In the major focal areas there are some blemishes or contact marks. The coin's luster might not be as prominent. The color is brown.
