Design
On the reverse side of the coin the design features Zitkala-Sa reading a book while dressed in traditional Yankton Sioux attire. The book symbolizes her work as an author and her work as an activist. A sun, a cardinal, and a Yankton Sioux pattern can be seen in the background. The sun symbolizes her play The Sun Dance Opera. The cardinal symbolizes her Native American name- "Red Bird". The words "AUTHOR", "ACTIVIST", and "COMPOSER" are inscribed on the left side of the coin.
Zitkala-Sa, also known by her married name Gertrude Simmons Bonnin, was a Native American rights activist. She was also a writer, composer, and translator. She co-founded the National Council of American Indians. This council lobbied for Native American's right to U.S. citizenship.

These coins are part of the American Women quarters program.
The US minted different series of the Zitkala-Sa quarter. There is the 2024 P quarter, 2024 D quarter, 2024 S quarter, 2024 S proof quarter and 2024 S silver proof quarter.

The standard 2024 Zitkala-Sa clad quarters in circulated condition are only worth their face value of $0.25. These coins only sell for a premium in uncirculated condition.
Both the 2024 P Zitkala-Sa quarter and 2024 D Zitkala-Sa quarter are each worth around $0.60 in uncirculated condition with an MS 65 grade. Uncirculated coins with a grade of MS 67 can sell for around $27.
The 2024 S Zitkala-Sa quarter is worth around $4.10 in uncirculated condition with an MS 65 grade. Uncirculated coins with a grade of MS 67 can sell for around $32.
The 2024 S proof Zitkala-Sa quarter is worth around $5.50 in PR 68 condition.
Silver Proof Quarter
This coin is worth at least its weight in silver. The silver melt value for this coin is $16.71. This melt value is calculated from the current silver spot price of $81.94 per ounce.
The 2024 S silver proof Zitkala-Sa quarter is worth around $13.50 in PR 68 condition.
Grading System
MS 65 gem uncirculated- There is strong luster and eye appeal. A few light contact marks may be present but they are barely noticeable.
MS 67 superb gem uncirculated- A sharply struck coin with only minor imperfections. There are 3-4 contact marks with only 1-2 in the main focal aras.
PR 68 proof- A near flawless coin. A few light contact marks are present.
