Design
On the reverse side of the coin the design features a portrait of Dr. Mary Edwards Walker. She is shown wearing an Army uniform while holding her surgeon's kit. Her Medal of Honor can be seen on her uniform and it can also be seen in more detail on the left side of the coin.
Dr. Mary Edwards Walker was a surgeon who worked for the Union Forces. She is the only women to ever win the Medal of Honor. She was captured by Confederate Forces while trying to treat soldiers across enemy lines and was later returned in a prisoner swap. Her brave efforts earned her the Medal of Honor. Walker was also an abolitionist and prohibitionist.

The US minted different series of the Dr. Mary Edwards Walker quarter. There is the 2024 P quarter, 2024 D quarter, 2024 S quarter, 2024 S proof quarter and 2024 S silver proof quarter.
