On the reverse side of the coin the design features Celia Cruz singing. She is shown in a stylish dress with a large smile on her face. Her catchphrase "AZUCAR" is inscribed prominently on the coin. This word translates to sugar.
Celia Cruz was a 20th century Cuban singer who later moved to the United States. Known as the Queen of Salsa, Cruz enjoyed a long career as a Latin music star. She released 37 albums and sold ten million records in total.

The US minted different series of the Celia Cruz quarter. There is the 2024 P quarter, 2024 D quarter, 2024 S quarter, 2024 S proof quarter and 2024 S silver proof quarter.
